TagHierarchical multi-resolution simulation for bending-active tensile hybrid structures based on isogeometric analysis
Integration between design and analysis is becoming more significant, and requires an easy back and forward transfer between design and analysis geometry. Isogeometric analysis (IGA) is filling the gap between structural analysis (FEA) and design software (CAD).

Integrating Fast Fluid Dynamics – Previous Work
AUTHOR: Angelos Chronis
Despite the continuous development of performance simulation tools, their seamless integration in the design process is still a challenge. One area that has remained largely unexplored is computational fluid dynamics (CFD). CFD simulations have a large variety of...
ESR06- MULTI SCALAR MODELLING FOR BUILDING DESIGN
Industrial Partners: Buro Happold, designtoproduction. Investigating multi scale modelling principles for architectural design. Multi-scale modelling is an interdisciplinary research topic in which systems are modelled at multiple scales and interfaced enabling the modelling of low scale systems to parametrisise and inform high scale systems . The project investigates multi scalar modelling as a means to support iterative build-up of knowledge in the design process in which highly specified material simulations interface with open ended design models.
ESR04- INTERACTIVE MULTIPLE CRITERIA SEARCH IN EARLY DESIGN PHASE
ESR: Zeynep Aksöz
ESR NUMBER: ESR4
INDUSTRIAL PARTNERS: Str.ucture + Foster and Partners
INSTITUTE: IOA
The involvement of machine intelligence carries the process of design into a new association between two species which continuously influence each other during the search for an ideal design...
ESR03- INTEGRATING BUILDING PHYSICS FOR PERFORMANCE CONTROL
The project is focused on building performance simulation and new fabrication techniques for the application of “smart materials” in architectural construction.
